"N Then There Iz NTENSE" is a 15-track project engineered, produced, and mixed by me for the talented artist NTENSE from Queens, NYC. NTENSE came to me with a concept album he wanted to bring to life. Using a list of inspirations we crafted a project identity and started to work on the production together. Some days NTENSE would bring me samples to chop up and others he would ask me to go through my personal stash.
After a month of collecting our instrumental, NTENSE was getting close to finishing writing his verses. We started setting an appropriate timeline to ensure a productive recording. Over the next weeks, we tracked all of his vocals at my apartment at the time. We structure and planned our mixing sessions in a similar way. Working on the basic edits on my own time, NTENSE and I would meetup to discuss work on more creative mix decisions. I find that having the artists in the room with me during mixing help us create a more cohesive and holistic project.
